Help You, we can.

Have you ever wondered how we here at Scriptingthewhy play a part or have a place in this community? We would like to think it’s attributed to the insight we provide on certain cybersecurity issues.

There are many places online where you can find information, however, it’s in a technical tone most of the time. Most people just want “What is the problem”, and “How do I fix it”.

We would like to think that with us, you get your problem fixed and a chuckle at the same time.

Information technology has many tools, none of them are a one-size-fits-all.

Now, making jokes aside, we have helped people. Covering topics like cloud computing and programming helped people be better prepared for what to expect. The world of Information Technology is vast and it’s difficult to navigate, especially when trying to switch careers.

That’s why we created our site, Scriptingthewhy.com, because we’re trying to make IT simple for the layman. We will admit it’s not perfect and we still need a lot of work, but we know it’s a step in the right direction.

In this direction, it is hoped that we provide you with some quality entertainment while you learn or find a solution to a pending problem. Information technology can seem a large and intimidating field, but we can assure you that with small steps, it can be for anyone.

Also, as you can see in the media, you don’t need a degree to get into the field. Most places say they require it, and sure, depending on the job and the requirements, you may need one. But on a general scale, a degree is not needed to work in IT. And we’re here to provide that comfort.

Freedom Didn’t Ring for You, Here’s Why…

What does freedom mean to you?
These germs are freer than I am. *sighs*

We’re Not Dictators of Our Past but of Our Future

In a time when pretty much everything is being put under a microscope, it’s nice to sit back, examine, and marinate in a stew with some chill music. The item under our microscope or in question is “What does freedom mean to you?”

This is an interesting question because freedom would be not having to work for most people.  This is fair, but that begs the question “Without work, what would you be doing?”

Oh, brother, this is going to be a mixed bag, we can already tell. Anyway, let’s get on with our thoughts and let freedom ring.

Freedom? Freedom is why I wear a watch.

Freedom, what is it? Everyone wants it, but is it even a real thing?  Don’t worry, you’re not Neo, we’re not Morpheus, and we’re not going to Matrix you. Freedom, when defined, is having the ability to be excluded from obligations.

What are obligations? Think of things you don’t want to do. This could be things like paying bills, putting overpriced gas in your car, or making up your bed. For us, the meaning of freedom is not being free from obligations but having the choice to fulfill obligations without consequence.

Still having to fulfill obligations without the consequence of not fulfilling obligations? That’s a real head-scratcher. We know, but again, we ask “What would you be doing if you didn’t have to do it?”

Freedom is lonely because not a lot of people have it.

So, let’s play on the angle where you have zero responsibilities. Rushing out of bed is no longer a thing, money is no longer an issue, your coffee is always ready, and breakfast is on the table. Your whole day is ahead of you. What would you do? Let us know your response in the comments.

We believe life would take a sharp turn to boredom for the vast majority of people. Why is that? Well, you’re not expected to do anything, you don’t have to pay for anything, nothing is an issue. Welcome to the world of the “rich”, this is the place where you can spend money on nonsense while others try to make sense of what they could be doing better with their time.

We believe this is the reason why rich people are portrayed this way on television, it displays the boredom that comes with freedom. We’re not saying freedom is bad and doing nothing will cause you to do ridiculous things, but we are saying there is a reason why there are consequences.

If you don’t lay out consequences for yourself then they will be laid out for you. The wealthy are well aware of that mindset. That’s why they have their days, weeks, months, and even years scheduled. Fulfilling an obligation that you’ve created and holding yourself accountable for not fulfilling is freedom.

Why? Because you’ve set the terms, not someone else. You’re in control, not someone else. You made your bed up, not your parents. You are free to do what you want within the parameters you have set for yourself, and that’s powerful.

Always remember; Uncle Ben (not the one on the rice box) said “With great power, comes great responsibility”. Well, we say “With no responsibility, comes no power.”

AI is Programming You, Here’s How…

AI can help you with most of these items.

The Ghost within You

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the number of things being marketed to you? Would you like an example? Every time you watch television, don’t you feel like there’s some new medication being advertised?

Most of which could cause, but are not limited to, internal bleeding, diarrhea, blurred vision, or death. Second thought, if it causes death, it shouldn’t be offered in the first place, but hey, we’re not doctors, we’re just nerds.

You don’t believe us they’re advertising possible flatline meds? Try to stay home and watch daytime TV, you’ll go insane, we promise. Television is a sitting pharmacy, we swear.

Drug pushing aside, what is the new craze that has many in confusion? That would be Artificial Intelligence or AI, for short. How do people get this confused? Isn’t AI just the rise of machines?

Well, yes, and no. The uprise is still a way away and there are talks that we get what we deserve but that’s another topic for another time.

Today, we’ll take a look into what generative AI is, and how it can help you in some ways. Machines are taking over, we have to learn to live with them.

They look the same, I don’t understand! Oh, the horror!

Generative AI, what is it? Isn’t all AI the same? No, with generative AI, programs are used to create content. Examples of this would be using AI to create and edit videos, photos, and creating stories.

Regular AI or Traditional AI operates with preset structured rules for outputs. Examples of Traditional AI would be Netflix recommendations, which miss the mark on most recommendations, or interacting with Alexa for something like checking the weather.

With generative AI, could this make you a content creator? It could however, the issue is as follows: the AI will not remember the old content it created previously and generate the same, if not similar content.

So, if you were looking for something to replace your editor, well bad news for you, good news for them, you still need them. Unless you’re going to learn how to create on your own.

You can test this right now. Open up something like Bing AI or any other AI program. Instruct the AI to write a short story about you using your name. The story will be a fictional one, but that’s the power of generative AI.

AI can help me go viral? Nice.

Now, if you’re considering becoming a content creator, editor, or something in the creation department. A generative AI program may be a great tool to bounce ideas back and forth.

AI has helped developers with programming/coding, and aided writers deal with writer’s block. Machines are coming for our jobs, but they can aid us to a better place if we learn how to use them to our advantage.
